Playlist - Cover Songs

In addition to penning some of the most memorable songs of all time the Ramones were great at putting their unique stamp on songs by other artists. Not counting their album of covers the band put their unique spin on over a dozen songs during their recording career. I've gone through that list of covers and created a playlist that captures the best of those songs. I've avoided including songs written or co-written by a member of the band but first recorded by another artist.

1. "I Don't Want to Grow Up"  From 1995's ¡Adios Amigos! - Originally recorded by Tom Waits.
2. "California Sun" From 1977's Leave Home - Originally recorded by Joe Jones. The Ramones version uses the arrangement made famous by The Rivieras.
3. "I Need Your Love" From 1983's Subterranean Jungle - Originally recorded by The Poppees.
4. "Palisades Park" From 1989's Brain Drain - Originally recorded by Freddy Cannon.
5. "Do You Wanna Dance" From 1977's Rocket to Russia - Originally recorded by Bobby Freeman.
6. "Surfin' Bird" From 1977's Rocket to Russia - Originally recorded by The Trashmen.
7. "Take It as It Comes" From 1992's Mondo Bizarro - Originally recorded by The Doors.
8. "Little Bit O' Soul" From 1983's Subterranean Jungle - Originally recorded by The Little Darlings.
9. "Baby, I Love You" From 1980's End of the Century - Originally recorded by The Ronettes.
10. "Spider-Man" From 1995 and found on the box set Weird Tales of the Ramones - Originally recorded as the theme from Spider-Man.
