We're a Happy Family: A Tribute to Ramones was released. Produced by Johnny Ramone and Rob Zombie the album features Ramones cover songs by artists including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, U2, KISS, Green Day and Eddie Veder.

Record Store Day Release: Live At The Palladium, New York, NY, December 31,1979

April 13th's Record Store Day will see the first vinyl release of Live At The Palladium, New York, NY, December 31, 1979. It features audio sourced from Tommy Ramone’s original cassette of the console recording with a  gatefold jacket recreation of the original advertisement for the show.

January 10th, 1977

The Ramones released their second album Leave Home. Like I previously did for the band's debut I've compiled live recordings of the songs from the album performed by the band between 1975 and 1996. I did run into a bit of a problem when I discovered the band appears to have never performed "What's Your Game" live. Thankfully CJ has been on the road keeping the band's music alive over the past few years and I was able to use a live recording from 2010 that also features Daniel Rey to fill this gap.

On This Date In...

1989 Dee Dee Ramone released his solo album Standing in the Spotlight as Dee Dee King.

Also on this date in 1995 the Ramones appeared on the 1995 MTV Movie Awards where they performed a medley of the songs nominated for "Best Song From a Movie". The nominated songs were: "Big Empty" by Stone Temple Pilots, "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" by Elton John, "Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon" by Urge Overkill, "I'll Remember You" by Madonna and "Regulate" by Warren G.
